Dr. Catherine E. Previously, she held the position of Medical Director at EyeSight Hawaii Maui, where she significantly contributed her expertise from September 2016.

Dr. Makin earned her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University in Vallejo, CA. She further honed her skills during her Ophthalmology Residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV, under the mentorship of Dr. Glen Hatcher. Her academic foundation is strengthened by a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of California, Santa Cruz, CA, where she specialized in the Molecular Pathway, highlighting her comprehensive preparation for a career in ophthalmology.

Dr. Makin has transitioned her medical licensure to Texas, reflecting her current practice location and commitment to providing top-tier eye care to her patients there. She is actively involved with several key ophthalmological organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Osteopathic Associations of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AOCOO-HNS), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
