At Westlake Eye Specialists, we’re proud to offer one of the newest, most advanced treatments for glaucoma—Direct Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (DSLT). As one of the first practices in Texas to introduce this technology, we’re bringing our patients a safer, gentler, and drop-free alternative for lowering eye pressure.
What is DSLT?
DSLT is a non-contact, non-invasive laser treatment designed to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Unlike traditional SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty), which requires direct contact with the eye using a lens, DSLT delivers precise laser pulses through the white part of the eye (the sclera)—without touching the surface of the eye.
The laser targets the trabecular meshwork, the eye’s natural drainage system, improving outflow and helping to safely reduce eye pressure.
